November inspiration and Video tutorial by Vera Shelemekh

Hello Blue Fern Studios fans!
Vera Shelemekh is here all over in tinsel and glitter  Why? Just because Christmas is coming. And I don't know a scrapbooker who didn't pile the crafty space with Christmas paper and embelishments.
I did! And today I'll show you two Christmas layouts + a video tutorial with the amazing Vintage Christmas collection.

The fist layout is about my son and snowy Christmas eve. The picture was taken last year. Colors fit the Vintage Christmas collection perfectly. I used Let it snow paper as background.
Winter trees chipboards are covered with green acrylic paint and Blue Fern Studios Avocado Embossing powder

I also included deer in the composition. It's covered with Icicle Embossing powder.

Have you seen the new fantastic Vintage Christmas printed Chipboards? I've used the piece with the house.

The leaves die cuts are made of Vintage Christmas 2 - Twas the Night. And I laso cut some flowers from Holiday cards and Vintage Christmas - Deck the Halls

Please, enjoy my video tutorial from which you will learn how this layout is made.

May Projects by Angelica Franssen

Hello friends! Today I'm here to share with you my May projects using the Deja Vu Collection.

My first project is a layout based on May's sketch. I lightly painted the La Plume paper with some watered down gesso. Then did some misting. I used the Friperies paper as the background photo mat.

For the title I used the word "Wonder" from the Delight Set. I also used the Deja Vu Collage Border. The three chipboard pieced I used were all treated the same. First I applied gesso and misted with three different color mists.

The bird cage is from the "Tweets" Collection.

I loved the colors in the Lustre paper. It's like a greenish gray, so I mixed in some purple. I also used the Atelier paper for some background layering.

The title "Discover" is from the  Journey, Discover, Explore Set. I misted it with a dark color so it can pop off the page.

When I was searching for a photo I found the young  woman at the door or window. I thought that the Sara's Screen Door chippy was a perfect match.
I used two of the four Small Symphony Corners to further frame my photo.

For my last project I made a canvas. I took a 10x8 and put three small 3x3 on top for dimension. I first treated the canvas with mist. Then did some masking with modeling paste. I used some scraps from the Un Voyage A Paris papers.
I used bits from the Quatrefoil Panel.

The butterflies are from the Magical Monarchs Set.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Easter story with Galina Sazonova.

Hello friends!)
Today I want to share with you the bright Easter projects, that I have made with several types of chipboard.
Here's the first of my projects this month:
Canvas "A moment in time".
I used three types of particle board - background texture, tree branch and words.

These chipboard I first painted with colored sprays, and then plated shiny powder. The result is very cute!)

The next my work:
Easter cards.
They are simple, but very lovely.) I think so.)
At the heart of the composition I used chipboard as wood branches with charming birds.

And let us look more details....

 That's the Easter story) ....

Journaling Yourself- By Keren Tamir

Keren here and its my turn again on the Blue Fern Studios blog.
This month my reveal is all about me, how I feel, my thoughts and memories of this time of my life as I'm approaching 40. I had to jot down some of my thoughts and feelings so I can one day look back and remember them. I guess this is what scrapbooking is all about. I always thought I should scrapbook for my kids so they can have these memories in the future. However I actually think that I am scrapbooking for myself, so when I'm old and gray (LOL) I can look back and remember how I felt or how I looked. That is if I can find these layouts amidst the hundreds of boxes I will have by then.

"Happy"

I've used the new and amazing Ombré Dreams collection for both layouts today. It is such a gorgeous collection and so versatile. I just love it so much and its perfect for my style.

I framed my photo in the new Wildflower chipboard frame. I painted in purple and turquoise to match the colours of the papers.

I used a few of the layering stems and the tweet friends branch to layer in between the flowers. I also painted them in purple and turquoise.

Finally I used pieces of the graduated circles and the happy title from the optimist word set to finish the page.

"Believe"

Here is my second layout this month and it also about me but with my new haircut.
I recently cut my hair short so I can donate it. I figured I should also record this episode in my life as I very seldomly journal about myself. I think it happens about once a year so at least now I have two layouts showing my Before and After pictures of my hair.

I have a how to video on how I create this layout here below so I won't go into a lot of specific details and just watch the video.

Thank you so much for visiting the Blue Fern blog today!!
Have a wonderful day!!

Remember

Hi it's Valerie Serfozo today with a layout to share with you.  I have used a photo of my son and nephew on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale when they were children.  I began this layout with the Signature paper from the Blue Fern Garden paper collection

After building the background with texture paste, Distress Ink, Gelatos, and stamping, I want to add even more dimension using Blue Fern chipboard.  I love to add some green to all my flower clusters, and there are many pieces of chipboard that are perfect for this.  Here I used the Tweet Friends piece for the greenery.  I first painted the chipboard with green ink, and then applied glitter.

I really love the Checker Bits because they can be tucked in just about anywhere on a layout.   I primed this piece with gesso, painted it, then stamped on it.  I wanted it to be 'less than perfect', so I smeared the ink a little.  Then I tucked this piece behind the photo.  I also painted a piece from the Directions set and used it on my layout.

Who doesn't have problems when it comes to titles for their layouts?  I love chipboard pieces that can solve that.  After covering this chipboard frame from the Memory Frames with embossing powder, I tucked it under the photo to serve as the title of the layout.

Although it probably doesn't look like the Heart Borders were used on this layout, they were.  Don't forget about the little pieces that you punch out of the chipboard.  They are great little gems to add to your layouts.  These little pieces were heat embossed like the frame.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see what Jackie has to created!
